I planted potatoes, cukes, yellow squash, zucchini, green beans, chick peas, kidney beans, and rococo beans. Things sprouted, but once again the weeds got the better of me. The garden was also attacked by a few sneaky animals who chewed my beans, ate my zucchini, and knocked down my potato plants. That wasn't the only problem I had. The soil just wasn't supporting veggies. That fall, I decided to make  a preemptive strike against the weeds.
